Saturday 25th July was the KKHS Ball
The theme was "Mystical Creatures"
Christine Bray - a lovely lady whom I also board with - lent me a dress.
She not only wore the gorgeous dress when she was younger, but had also made it.
Apparently she was asked on numerous outings to wear that specific dress :)
Everyone admired her in the dress.
I was so thankful that she had lent it to me, not only was it beautiful but it would also save me the trouble of searching shops for a dress and then having to buy it - they are so pricey!
On Saturday morning I was quite excited :P :)
What girl wouldn't be for their first ball?
I woke up early and checked that I had everything for the night.
I had a hair appointment booked at Hermanas for 2.15pm, so my parents just dropped my off there while they went on to do their shopping.
My hair was curled, it looked GREAT!!!
I wish my hair was always that curly...
By 3pm I was finished and Richard and George picked me up.
Till 6pm, which is when we decided to get ready after having a quick dinner, I had to try sit still to not ruin my lovely new curls.
It was harder than you think :)
It didn't take us long to get ready, I took a bit longer than Richard because of my make-up :)
At 7.20pm we left, getting a ride from George :)
Outside the auditorium was a BRIIIIIGHT light shining at us, just so that the teachers could inspect our clothing!
From the auditorium to the end of the library was lined with black plastic, so we couldn't escape!
Inside you could not even recognize the building, it had changed completely!
Where the seating usually is was a huge band set up at the bottom, and on top was a 'deck' with seating on the sides.
There was a huge dragon hanging down from the ceiling, it was right in the middle.
The whole wall was covered in a pretty curtain, and in the end corner were some skulls and a passage leading off to the drama rooms where the photos were being taken.
It was beautifully decorated!
The drama rooms were also done great!
They had to different sets where you could get your photo's taken. One standing with posts on each side of you with a black background and another where you are sitting on a lovely bench with colourful pebbles scattered on the ground, with a white sheet at a background.
Now onto the food. It was in the library, and again you would not have recognized that it was the library.
They had black curtains around the walls covering all the books and a "mystical" sculpture at the entrance.
They also had seating in one end of the library and tables covered in food on the other side.
There was soooooooo much food there, it was delicious!
I especially loved the strawberries and green grapes that were coated in chocolate :)
The whole evening was wonderful!
Heidi dragged Fiona and I away to get some photos taken without the guys.
We ended up waiting in line for such a long time.
Richard and others started looking for us, wondering why we had 'ditched' them.
We caught up with them 30mins later by the food!
I had a lot of fun dancing with Richard, even though we both were hopeless :)
The band playing was fantastic, they played a lot of great songs throughout the whole night.
Everyone that was part in the organization of it did an amazing job, I wish I could thank them all!
Midnight came around too fast!
I was wishing that it wouldn't end.
George was so kind to come and pick us up.
Poor him. I was trying to imagine myself sleeping and then having to force myself out of bed at that time.
When we got home Gypsy woke the whole house up with her insane barking.
Jolanda went to bed nearly straight away again, and George went too.
But we were up for a bit talking till about 2 or 3am when we decided to sleep.
I write too much I know, the good thing is that I don't really mind if no one reads my blogs.
I just write it now mainly for Olivia and myself.
Its nice to just let everything out!
In the next post I will have to write about the SB Ball!!!
xx
